Pakistan Launches Communication Satellite
Pakistan has always been about doing new things and turning heads. And this time it was always about turning heads again and shooting for the stars. As we all are very excited about this communication satellite, it is also pertinent to note that this communication satellite was sent a few days before Youm-e-takbir.
Pakistan Launches Communication Satellite
Pakistan’s space agency launched a second communication just a few days ago and this launch was sent from a region and launch site in China’s northwest Sichuan province. According to SUPARCO, space and Upper Atmosphere and Research Commission, this communication satellite is named PakSAT-MM1 a high-power multi mission satellite which is designed to provide a range of services includes providing high-level communication services.
The achievement itself was launched a few days ago and it received appreciation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other officials from the nation. SUPARCO said on its website that;
“Based on advanced communication technologies, PAKSAT-MM1 will play a pivotal role in the socio-economic uplift of the country. It is a hallmark cooperation between both Pakistan and China.” They later added that ” It will prove to be a stepping stone in the transformation stone for the country.”
Pakistan-China Collaboration
There is no denying that both Pakistan and China have had a longstanding friendship which is based on purity and collective partnership. There is no denying that this isn’t the first time that both countries have collaborated. This communication satellite is a testament to their pure friendship and camaraderie.
The Chinese news agency said this on the day when the communication satellite was launched “At 20:12 my country (China) has successfully launched Pakistan’s multimission rocket at the Xicheng Satellite launch centre.”
It was later confirmed from the sides that this collaboration between both countries and the launch of communication satellite. The satellite will play a key role in improving communication and it marks a stepping stone for Pakistan and its space industry.
According to Pakistan Television PTV, Pakistan’s state broadcaster, the satellite will provide top-tier internet services nationwide, which will enhance TV broadcasts, cellular connectivity, and most important broadband. Furthermore, it is also reported that its services will launch in August.
Earlier Space Collaboration
As discussed earlier, this isn’t the first communication satellite that was sent before. Earlier we saw how China and Pakistan had collaborated as well.
This dates back to 1990 when a communication satellite was sent and it was developed by Pakistan and launched into space abroad by a Chinese Long March 2E rocket.
This collaboration has only evolved over the years and also culminated in the recent launch of Pakistan’s first launch satellite, ICUBE-QAMAR (ICUBE-Q) on May 3, abroad China’s Long March 5 rocket from the Wenchang space launch centre in Hainan province.
The ICUBE-Q satellite, a joint project between Pakistan’s Institute of Space Technology, SUPARCO and Shanghai Jiao Tong University captured its first photo of the moon on May 8.
Furthermore, we are also reminded of how China has supported their One Belt Project which is more commonly known as CPEC. Furthermore, China has also supported Pakistan’s nuclear weaponization efforts, aiding in bomb designs and explosive component development which is used in explosives. Furthermore, they have also helped us in enhancing nuclear developments by developing and transferring propellant missiles. This communication satellite is another achievement.
Conclusion
Currently, we see that China stands as a cooperating and significant partner for Pakistan. This communication satellite as discussed earlier is nothing but a huge testament to our longstanding friendship. In the end, all we can say is that we wish to see this friendship only grow over the years.
