Protests are taking over and rocking the world as we move away from the general election results. It’s been many days and the country still awaits the results of the elections. Furthermore, there have been many protests that are carried out all around the country to speak up for the massive ringing.
PTI Workers And Protests
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers initiated protests in different parts of the country and different cities across Pakistan. They are also opposing alleged electoral irregularities in the general elections on the 8th of February. Also, according to the reports that are given out by multiple news media channels.
In Rawalpindi’s Sadiqabad, PTI workers demonstrated outside the district election commissioner’s office. Law enforcement in Rawalpindi reportedly used tear gas and baton charges to disperse the protestors. This was also leading to the arrest of PTI supporters protesting against the election results on the 8 of February.
Police Involvement
Police fired tear gas to disperse supporters of Imran Khan as protests broke out across Pakistan amid allegations. Widespread vote rigging targeting the former prime minister’s political party and other nationalist groups in the general election.
The General Election Results, which took place on Thursday, gave a surprise first place to Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Khan, a former cricketing star, was barred from contesting the general election results and handed several lengthy prison sentences in the days leading up to votes.
Election Commission Of Pakistan (ECP)
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday also held back the announcements of the general election results of 10 National Assembly and 16 provincial assembly constituencies due to a large number of rigging.
The electoral watchdog also ordered re-polling at 53 polling stations in three constituencies on February 15.
The ECP took up dozens of petitions, challenging the election results of various national and provincial assembly constituencies. Simultaneously, several other petitions were also filed in the high court which could be taken up tomorrow.
While hearing the petitions, the ECP barred the returning officers concerned not to issue the notification of success of any candidate from NA-151, Mansehra, NA-28, NA-49, and NA-50 Attock, NA-55, Rawalpindi, NA-63 and NA-65 Gujrat and NA-47 and NA-48 in Islamabad.
