Podcast culture has grown over the years and in Pakistan, we have seen some very prominent YouTubers and celebrities taking this afar and making a career out of it. Recently, a podcast clip went viral where we saw legendary actor Behroze Sabzwari taking a dig at Imran Khan while also praising him. Sounds confusing here is more to the story!
What Happened?
It was 2 days ago when we saw Behroze Sabzwari when he appeared on a podcast famously named “FHM podcast. Earlier, we saw many other celebrities who appeared on the podcast and made many controversial and thought-provoking statements. Well, guess this time it was Behroze Sabzwari.
So, the legendary actor appeared on the podcast where he discussed many things. In between the conversations, he shed light on his experience working in the industry as he has been a part of the industry for many decades. He also talked about the dynamics of the industry and further talked about the importance of artists. So, overall it was a good raw conversation but it was when he talked about Imran Khan that raised many eyebrows.
In between the conversation, he went on to mention Imran Khan who he initially praised as a man of value and leader. He started by saying that no matter how many allegations he is here to stay and after praising he said something that shocked all of us.
He then went on to say that in his 24 years of service at Shaukat Khanum, he has spent time with Imran Khan and while people accuse him of drugs, in actuality he has never drunk more than two glasses of alcohol with me. He later went on to praise and say that “Qaidi number 804 will win in the end.”
The actor Behroze Sabzwari very categorically said that he drinks alcohol and said that Imran Khan has never drunk more than two glasses and while everyone accuses him of drugs, he is not like this. This clip took over social media where everyone started pouring in their opinions.
Hina Khwaja Bayat Responds

Many people started responding to his controversial statement. Many people started responding by saying that this statement itself is very repulsive and controversial. Many accused Behroze Sabzwari of lying and tarnishing the reputation of Imran Khan.
It was amidst all this that the famous and legendary actor, Hina Khwaja bayat responded by saying that these days it’s very easy to be famous and be relevant. Do a podcast and say provocative stuff to make headlines.
“There is a new trend which involves people who lack public attention and praise for their work resorting to podcasts to make disparaging claims about famous personalities,” she said that in a video.
The actor said that Behroze Sabzwari statement was initially about praising him but it ultimately damaged his reputation.
“By saying such things, you claim the person is wrongly defamed, yet you are the one wrongly defaming that person” she added. She even emphasised that this approach was all about gaining attention and fame.
Was Behroze Sabzwari Right?
In the end, we feel that it was very unethical of him to say something like this. Although intentions cannot be questioned which we believe were coming from a soft corner in actuality he did more damage than good.
To some degree, we do agree with Hina Khawaja Bayat. If you think that a person is good, you won’t make headlines by saying something very provocative and controversial. In the case of Behroz Sabzwari, he said things that he could have avoided but instead, it made headlines.
Furthermore, with all that is happening, we believe that he should have avoided making such statements.
