Muhammad Amir’s On-Field Clash: A Fiery Encounter with a Fan
Muhammad Amir’s encounter with a fan
Muhammad Amir’s encounter with a fan during his retirement from international cricket in 2020 highlighted the lingering shadow of a spot-fixing incident from 2010. Despite his talent, former players and supporters disapprove of his involvement in Pakistani cricket, tarnishing his legacy.
During a PSL match between the Lahore Qalandars and the Quetta Gladiators, fans harassed Amir with fixer chants, which displeased him.
Amir leaves the field with teammates. A fight erupts with a supporter. The video goes viral. It was taken behind the sightscreen. Initially, Amir ignores the chants. Later, he confronts the harasser. Amir speaks harshly about the individual.
After a while, he departed, but it was evident that the accusations troubled the pacer. Alongside Amir, Salman Butt and Muhammad Asif also received bans following the scandal, which stands as one of the largest in cricket history, ending their careers.
What Happened?
So basically as reports come in, we know that Muhammad Amir was playing. As one of the leading champions of Quetta Gladiators, he was seen balling against their rival Lahore Qalanders.
It went on as we saw Amir giving us a fiery performance where he was seen being at the forefront. He then went on to give his performance, but it was amidst his performance that many people started cheering up. While many people were cheering him some were rather bullying him.
In between the cheers and shouting, Amir heard a voice that was shouting “Fixer, Fixer FIxer” Apparently, Amir ignored it for a while until he heard it again and went ahead to fight with that particular fan or spectator.
He was in a very fiery state where he was extremely angry. He went ahead to curse and fight with that person. It was then that other people came in and stopped him from that happening. Amir as we know is a man of wits and at the same time, he is a man who is famously known for his anger.
This wasn’t the first time when someone came in and did this to him. He was earlier called out things and people are used to bullying him.
Is This The First Time?
As discussed earlier, this isn’t the first time that some fan said this to a cricket star. He was earlier called names including “fixer”
It all goes back to many years ago when Amir was a hero and he was celebrated internationally as a man and as a good player. It was after that, that he was accused of match-fixing. His match-fixing case was internally recorded and he was, in the end, proved to be guilty of fixing the match.
It was something that came as a shock for so many of us. But after many charges and many trials, he was accused of match-fixing. He later was then put behind bars for various reasons and therefore people called him names.
It was after that trial that he was selected again. He was given a chance again which he completely took. It was after a while that he started giving more good performances. But seems like still didn’t get over. It was after his comeback that people started mocking him again.
Is It OK to Mock Celebrities Or Players?
We understand the sentiments of people when it comes to our celebs especially when it comes to cricket. But regardless of all that, we must understand that there is a difference between constructive criticism and bullying. While so many people resort to public humiliation and bullying, we must understand that we all should respect people at all costs.
It must be remembered that respect is the first thing that you should give to others. The main problem that we see is that our people lack basic respect and mannerisms which should always be upheld at all costs.
