Kendrick Vs Drake: The Greatest Rap Battle
If you are a greatest rap battle fan then the past few weeks have been very stressful for you and yes we get you. It has been more than a week since the ongoing feud between Kendrick vs Drake started and like most of us we have been loving it and to say the least, it is also very toxic. While many are saying that this is a “Greatest Rap Battle civil war” between the two greatest artists of all time, we have something very different to say. But before we say something, when did this all start?
When Did This All Start?
If we talk about the two greatest rap battle artists in history, then Drake and Kendrick Lamar are one of them. One is a committed Pulitzer prize artist and the other has outsold Michael Jackson. If we take it back then both artists started very peacefully at one point. Both of these were good friends in the start and even collaborated on a few songs including the very famous one which was “Poetic Justice”. But it was after this song that they never really saw each other.
It was after this that Kendrick would diss Drake along with other artists as part of a healthy competition. The two were seen trading small disses over the decade in interviews and songs, but things took a very different after the release of Drake and J. Cole’s first-person shooter.
It was in this song, that J.Cole would call himself along with Kendrick and Drake the “big three” which went on for weeks. Kendrick by this time solidified his position where he became one of the biggest names, he would release his album “Damn” which would go on to win Pulitzer Prize in 2018 and apparently, Kendrick took offence to this verse where J. Cole said that they are the big three, and Kendrick went on to say that the song Like That was produced by Metro Boomin “Motherfuck the big three, it’s just big me”. Kendrick somehow didn’t like that Drake and him were on the same skill level.
J. Cole Enters The Chat: Greatest Rap Battle
After this, J. Cole entered the chat with his surprise album, Midnight Delete Later, and one of the songs “7 Minute Drill” will include a diss track directed at Kendrick Lamar. It was on this track when he massively trolled and dissed Kendrick Lamar. It was later when he removed his song from his album saying that it didn’t sit right with his spirits and said it was “one of the lamest, goofiest shit he has ever participated in”
After this, Drake responded with two diss tracks directed towards Kendrick Lamar, which were named “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle”. It wasn’t the first time Drake dissed someone like that, he earlier dissed Future, The Weekend, Rich Ross, NBA player Ja Morant, Metro Boomin and J. Cole on that song.
Lamar Responds
It was after Drake released his track “Taylor Made Freestyle” that he said that he waited for Lamar’s response and dissed that he would release it now as he knew that Taylor Swift had just released an album. The track however was very short-lived because it has AI-generated vocals from the rap legends Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.
It was after a week greatest rap battle when Lamar released his song “Euphoria” which topped all charts where he was seen dissing Drake. It was after this that he started releasing back-to-back songs dissing Drake. In that, he was seen dissing him very brutally. Drake then released his song after which Kenrick released his diss track that was released literally after 15 minutes of Drake’s diss track.
The greatest rap battle has then been going on between both artists. Only yesterday Drake released his second diss track as a latest addition. Kendrick fans are patiently waiting for his response.
Conclusion
While we await Kendrick’s response, now the thing is for sure that this will go down as one of the most brutal and historic greatest rap battle of all time.
