Moreover, he added, ” I will continue to serve my country to the best of my availability in a private capacity. May the next few years see Pakistan prosper.”
Jahangir Tareen And His Political Standing
Jahangir Tareen has earlier on been a core member of PTI. He was one of the right hands of Imran Khan. While he spent many years at the party, he decided to part ways with the party. He then laid the foundation of another party, which was Istehkam-e-Pakistan (IPP). Jahangir Tareen took a big electoral beating in Multan against PTI-backed Malik Aamir Dogar in the February 8 elections.The former PTI leader managed only 50,166 votes compared to Dogar’s 143,613 votes. He even lost his hometown of Lodhran in the NA-155 constituency, managing 71,128 votes against PML-N’s Khan Mohammad Siddque with 117, 671 votes. The overall party showed dismal performance in the polls with two seats for the IPP in the National Assembly and none for the JI.IPP President Aleem Khan expressed his sadness and said he was “deeply saddened” by Tareen’s decision.
