What Is Wrong With Pakistan Cricket Team?
We all saw how the match turned out this Sunday and though it’s been two days since the tragic loss Pakistan cricket team, we have not moved from that. And while many of us are grieving the loss, a major portion of people out there are angry about the decisions made by PCB. But on a serious note, what is exactly wrong with Pakistan cricket team?
Let’s uncover this age-old problem together!
Poor Batting Approach
One of the major issues is that the Pakistan cricket team in the World Cup has been inconsistent in batting and lacks a modern-day approach to their batting style.
We all are aware of this age-old problem where we know how archaic our batting is, while we see talented people everywhere, it is a rarity to have talented and skilled batsmen in our team. Even with the inclusion of Imad Wasim, Rizwan, Azam Khan, and Naseem Shah, we still failed to deliver. If we have to be more honest then we can see that the team has failed to build any partnership during middle orders and competitive tools resulting in a very inconsistent performance.
Poor Bowling: Pakistan Cricket Team
This time our bowlers who are world class famous looked hopeless and hapless. We really gotta give to Amir and Shaheen for this but still, at the end of the day, we miss the time when we were producing world-class bowlers.
Naseem, who took wickets is a great example in that aspect, but still how long are we going to celebrate this?
Confusing Captaincy
This very point should have been first on the list, because are you also done with captaincy the way we are? Last year, we saw a change in captaincy, that led to more changes but after some time Babar Azam was brought back.
Babar, being the captain has made some very daunting and apparent mistakes, why is it that Shadab is coming on 4th position even though he is not a proper batsman? Similarly, the middle order is the most crucial wicket but we can see how ugly and bad decisions were made there as well. This shows nothing but poor decisions from our captain.
No Unity
As per many reports, the team is currently going through riffs. There was a time when there was apparent unity in the team. But as we see things, it is seen that within the team big riffs are going on, where they don’t eat together, sit together and play together.
The clustering of internal politics has led to where we are today.
Can We Handle Pressure?
The answer to this question is a clear no. In these past two games, we have seen how we have mostly faltered in high-pressure situations especially in matches against India and even with a new team like the USA. So what does this prove? that we are not good when it comes to managing our pressure.
Team Used For Image Building
Think of it for a second, why do we need our Pakistan cricket team to go for training in Kakul? Why is represented by the army at this point?
At this point, our Pakistan cricket team is used for image building and to create a good narrative of the current army and regime and this is the worst we could ever be. A team that has nothing to do with politics is still used for politics is upsetting and tells us about the true state of this very department.
Mohsin Naqvi: The Real Culprit
Last but not least, let’s talk about the real man behind what is happening right now (at least most of it ). Mohsin Naqvi is appointed as the chairman of PCB, but why so? Mohsin Naqvi is nowhere related to Pakistan cricket team and as far as we know, he was a normal journalist so why is he appointed something as big as the chairmanship of PCB?
We have seen a recurring pattern in this, where we have seen that many decisions were made that were solely not needed and many people were favoured and offered seats that shouldn’t have happened. At this point, the PCB has become more of a battle where politics is preferred rather than the spirit of cricket and who is to be blamed for it? Most definitely Mohsin Naqvi.
It was after his appointment when things changed and that too for the worst and as we all saw, Babar would have less control and there was a direct interference in the Pakistan cricket team.
