Sania Mirza Spotted With Atif Aslam in Dubai
Pakistani musician Atif Aslam, who is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a concert, was photographed with former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza along with his wife. On March 2, Atif played with firdous an all-women band based out of the UAE. One of the most recognizable Pakistani singers in the world, Atif Aslam is also a reputed film actor having appeared in 2011 film Bol which became one of the ten highest-grossing Pakistani films of all time. His 2004 album Jal Pari – meaning Mermaid – announced him to the world, with the title trackand ‘Mahi Ve’ becoming big hits in his native Pakistan and further afield.
His Bollywood breakthrough came when director Mahesh Bhatt asked Atif to include his track ‘Woh Lamhey’ in his 2005 picture Zeher. More Bollywood work came his way in 2010 when his tracks ‘Doorie’ and ‘Maula’ were selected for the soundtrack to Spanish Beauty, before he sang 2 songs on Mina Nair’s 2012 film The Reluctant Fundamentalist. With a big following in Dubai following several sold out gigs including a string of concerts at the World Trade Centre, he’s also a big star in the UK having sold thousands of tickets for his 2013 tour which took in Birmingham and two sold out shows at London’s 02
According to The Dubai Stars, Atif Aslam is considered “one of the best singers in Pakistan. He was honoured with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan. Best known for his powerful vocal belting technique.”
Dubai officially unveiled their walk of fame, called The Dubai Stars – a walkable star-studded experience across Downtown Dubai, which honours global personalities from all walks of life on their achievements and work. Atif Aslam along with seven other luminaries from the entertainment world, including Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor, Emirati singer Balqees Fathi, Egyptian actor-couple Mona Zaki and Ahmad Helmi, among others, gathered to celebrate the occasion and collect their commemorative plaques.
During the press conference for The Dubai Stars, Atif Aslam thanked everyone and said that he’s honoured to share the platform with these icons. “Music has always connected people,” said Atif. “I’d like to thank everyone who has been with me throughout my journey. With this platform I see a lot of collaborations happening because I was so looking forward to meet all these celebrities. I want to work in the field of music. I want to collaborate with them, get to know their culture and know about how beautiful they are.”
Moreover, On March 2 of last week, Atif gave a performance alongside the all-female Firdaus Orchestra. An ensemble headquartered in the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, Sania Mirza Atif Aslam in Dubai who was purportedly in Dubai for the event posted a picture of herself on Instagram where she was seen posing with the artist and his wife, Sara Bharwana.
Sara originally shared the photo with the description, “with my faces.”

According to an interview with Khaleej Times, a Middle Eastern entertainment website, the forty-year-old singer would be performing songs such as “Rabba Sacheya” and “Channa”. He announced that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s interpretations of the songs would be combined with the originals.
The picture was initially posted by Sara with the caption “with my favourites”.
Sania Mirza, 37, reposted that picture on her Instagram Story. Sania Mirza also posted a picture of the concert in which Atif Aslam could be seen on stage singing his much-loved song “Woh Lamhe Woh Baatein”.
In an interview with aMiddle East entertainment publication of Khaleej Times, the 40-year-old singer said that he would perform songs like “Rabba Sacheya”, and “Channa”.
He said that they would be fusing the songs with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s renditions.
“I am hoping that the audience will enjoy that as well,” said Atif during the interview.
He added that his “vision is to bring the rock element and fuse it with the eastern instruments as well”.
