Sindh Govt Declared Emergency Due to Heavy Rain on Friday
Karachi: On Thursday, the Sindh government declared an Emergency due to the expected heavy rainfall on Friday. Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah said, Friday to be the half day for all private and Government offices in Karachi.
CM Murad instructed Commissioner Larkana to ensure all precautionary measures to handle the situation.“We have to keep our preparations complete with regard to rainfall warning,” the chief minister said.
Meanwhile, in a post on Twitter, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui requested people to avoid unnecessary travelling to prevent any problems.
Sindh Govt Declared Emergency Action Plan
As Sindh government declared an Emergency due to the anticipated heavy rain. In response, Sindh Emergency Rescue Service (SERS) Director General Dr Abid Jalaluddin Shaikh called a separate meeting to discuss measures that needed to be taken in an emergency. This meeting was held at the headquarters of the Sindh Rescue 1122 service in Karachi.
He issued strict orders, all officers should be present on their duties to ensure staff’s full attendance.
He instructed emergency officers and station in-charges in each district to maintain constant communication with the district administration. A list of officers was also provided in this meeting who are responsible for handling emergencies during this weather forecast.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a warning in the current weather report, stating that Rain and thunderstorms with few heavy falls are likely to affect various areas in Sindh.
Additionally, they raised concerns that heavy rainfall may cause flooding in the cities, especially in the lower areas. They advised the fishermen in Balochistan to avoid venturing into the deep sea. Furthermore, They urged the fishermen in the Sindh Govt Declared Emergency to be careful during this weather forecast.
