Following the U. S. Open, Bianca Andreescu was able to advance into the quarterfinals of the China Open where she was defeated by Naomi Osaka putting a stop to her 17-match winning run. For her debut, she was scheduled for the WTA Finals where she had to withdraw from the group stage because of a left knee injury.
