Nico Rosberg Takes A Dig At Max Verstappen Over Lewis Hamilton’s Hungarian Gp Race Moment.
In the latest development that added fuel to the already boiling Formula 1 competition, Nico has given Max a cheeky message after he caused an accident with Lewis Hamilton during the Hungarian GP. What ensued in the race was a fantastic move by Max Verstappen trying to overtake Hamilton on the inside of the first corner on lap 63 however the result was a moment of sheer force that briefly made the Red Bull airborne.
The Incident
Further in the race, Max Verstappen tried to overtake Hamilton but skidded and got in contact with the Mercedes driver. This unfortunate mistake made the Red Bull lift off the ground for a few seconds interrupting both drivers’ race. However, the contact affected both drivers and though they were left with damage, neither of them had to retire from the race.
Max Verstappen struggling looked quite furious at the event and used the team radio to blame Hamilton for the incident. Verstappen’s comments, however, provoked an ironic reaction from Rosberg asserting that Verstappen is yet to learn from his mistakes as he was a former teammate in the F1 racing circuit.
However, the outspoken, no-nonsense Rosberg did not miss a chance to air his opinion of the issue and he did it on Sky F1. In a typically sarcastic fashion, Rosberg indicated that Max Verstappen was rather vocal about it, which he was being.
“The frustration is starting to boil over which we as spectators quite enjoy watching honestly, it’s a change from the Red Bull dominance isn’t it?” Rosberg said.
The former champion did not stop there. He further commented:
“But I’m assuming here that maybe Max hasn’t seen it yet on a TV, otherwise, someone needs to tell him that was a corner, which is why Lewis was turning in.”
Household reflection from Rosberg is in line with his humour regarding the aromatic rivalry between the two drivers from Verstappen and Hamilton, bringing the spice that fans had been following.
Post-Race Reactions
Consequently, even in this case, the race stewards did not demerit any of these drivers as many people would have expected. After the race, Max Verstappen stuck to his defence of his attempted move, and you could tell that he genuinely did not think he had done anything wrong by making the attempted move that he did. He stated:
“I went for a move that was fully on But then in the middle of the braking zone anything that I can do, I am already committed to this move, he suddenly just kept warping right It confused me because I locked up because he just keeps on turning to the right.”
Hamilton, on the other hand, was least concerned about the crash, calling it a racing incident. ’ He contends that Max Verstappen could have possibly prevented the crash if only he had not gotten his car handling wrong. Hamilton’s words are an output of his opinion in thinking that accidents in racing are inherent in the sport and do not deserve much blame.
The event and the actions of both the racers and mainly the difference in the reaction have contributed and added fuel to the enmity between Max Verstappen and Hamilton. It is one of the main themes that the fans and the experts focus on, serving as a subplot to the 2024 Formula 1 season.
Ongoing Rivalry
Max Verstappen and Hamilton have sparked quite a rivalry and the incident occurred in the Hungarian Grand Prix. This season full of on-track rumbles and intercar communication became a real joker for fans and gave them much to think about. The statements have been received from Rosberg only helping the flames rise with humour and criticism for Formula 1 fans.
Again, one can touch upon the strained relationship between the two drivers and the media, which is reflective of Formula 1 racing nowadays. Throughout the season, the clash of Verstappen and Hamilton will remain important to the viewer and depends on the race as part of the series.
