Maryland Government Wes Moore Not Interested In Possible Vp Role
Current Maryland Governor Wes Moore is also among the persons rumoured to be aspiring for a vice-presidential position and Moore in particular has categorically stated that he has no plans of abandoning his gubernatorial position. The name that has come out being considered for the position of vice president in tandem with Kamala Harris is that of Moore following Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race.
A Clear Message
In recent statements which have been made by Moore, he has assured that he will remain as Governor of Maryland. “I have explained to the same media that I appreciate the job I do and I do not plan on quitting, Moore said.” He clarified that who Harris will be running with is her decision alone as the vice president of the United States and stands behind her decisions.
“Now where (Kamala Harris) goes, that is going to be a very personal matter to her I believe and I do think that she will have fabulous options to contemplate on,” Wes Moore further opined.
In 2022, Moore started as the 63rd governor of Maryland and stated his intention to carry on with service in Annapolis due to the achievements and speed in the state.
Commitment to Maryland
Specifically, Wes Moore stressed, that I want to stay as the Governor of Maryland. Speaking of Maryland, I like the efforts that are currently being observed in the state, and I wish to be that leader who will contribute to the achievement of such progress. This is why I have not decided to stay in Maryland because the work is not yet done.
More so Wes Moore and, his allegiance to Maryland was enhanced by supporting Kamala Harris for the Democratic presidential candidacy. Moore talked with Harris on the phone for nearly an hour on Sunday and Sunday night, she endorsed Harris in public Monday morning.
In a statement Wes Moore said “The American people deserve someone who will keep up the good work of the Biden-Harris administration and that is why I fully support Kamala Harris for the Democrat’s ticket for the presidency,” Moore said.
Supporting Harris’s Campaign
Wes Moore also extended his support stating that he is ready to campaign for Harris and is part of the co-chair committee. He fully trusts that Harris would make the right choice of a running mate for the vice presidency.
‘I can assure you that I hold full faith and confidence that the vice president is going to make the right selection for her,’ Wes Moore said.
Harris’s Gratitude and Endorsements
Recently, Kamala Harris joined other people in the White House South Lawn where she committed herself for Biden and even offered to express her appreciation to him. ‘’Every single day our President Joe Biden is advocating for the people of this nation, and we are so, so thankful for his leadership’’ Harris stated.
Biden, delegates from the Maryland Democratic National Convention, and Nancy Pelosi, the former speaker Of The House, have endorsed Harris.

The Democratic National Convention starts on August 19 while the Election Day is on November 5.
