Exam season is here, and we are watching so many students stressed, preparing, revising, and revisiting their concepts. Amidst all this, we are witnessing many students who are going through one of the hardest phases.
Ever since the education department announced the commencement of annual exam season, many students have been gearing up for the mighty exam season. While many are still stressed, we have some exam tips for you!
Gear up for exam season and follow these tips, and we promise you that you’ll ace all your exams.
1. Make Sure You Are Relaxed
Many students are always stressed about their exam season. No matter how many times you prepare or practice, as long as you are stressed, things won’t work out.
Many students also fail mostly, not because they are not fully prepared or because they lack preparation, but because they are way too stressed and nervous about their exams.
The first step has to be, to simply stay relaxed and calm. The more calm you are, the more composed you are, and the more prepared you are.
Even if you are not that prepared, in the end, if you are calm, it gives you clarity. And while you are clear, it gives you time to think and contemplate.
2. Plan, Plan, Plan
As the saying goes, “Failing to plan is planning to fail.” It would be best to have planning tools, such as a revision timetable or to-do list.
Knowing whether you are a prospective or retrospective planner is also important. A prospective planner is someone who tends to make revision plans. They plan, they allocate. They allocate time, settings, hobbies, and social events. So to ace your exams, make sure that you are planning everything.
You must divide all your subjects and give them equal time so that you are ahead of the race.
2. Realize Why You Are Studying
There is nothing more painful than studying for exams while the sun is out and everyone is playing. While everyone is watching a movie, you feel lonely and left out.
It also means that you must realise why you are studying. You must remember why you are taking these exam season. Your purpose should always be very clear. That purpose should be to not just ace your exams but to instill learning and knowledge.
3. Turn Your Notes Into Flash Cards
Working directly from textbooks can become very tedious and hinder your productivity as you become bored and frustrated with work that is often the same. So make sure that you are enjoying what you are studying.
Make it more playful and make flash cards. Try bringing colours in it and hang it in your room.
4. Use The 50 Minute Rule
Break your study sessions, set up a timer, and work directly from your workbook. Use 50 minutes to completely focus and concentrate on your book and work.
Make sure that while you are doing all this, you are making notes on your register. Turn off your cell phones, TV, and everything else so that there are no distractions. Make sure that you give a solid 50 minutes to that work.
Use the remaining 10 minutes to revise everything that you have studied. Also, during that time, take a deep breath, pause for a moment, and take a snack. This is one of the best ways to have effective study sessions.
5. Energize Yourself Before the Exam
You may think that getting some extra sleep or relaxing in front of your TV will make your mind clearer.
Take some free time so that you can focus on yourself, and also go out for a walk.
6. Teach Others
One of the best ways to study is also by teaching others.
When you teach others be it your family members, or friends your concepts will be, ore clearer. This will help you solidify your concepts. Set up a schedule and teach your friends. This will make things more easy for you.
Furthermore, it will give you an insight into other concepts and things and will help you broaden your horizon and work on your tweaks.
7. Reward Success
After each exam season, reward yourself.
Whether you choose to chill out, or go out with your family members, give yourself the time to celebrate and enjoy that moment.
These little rewards will also give you more positivity and motivation to work harder.
