The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety (PASS) informed the new Nisab with a payment of Rs. 135,179.
The notification declared that Zakat would be deducted from profit and loss sharing accounts, savings bank accounts, and other similar accounts.
Banks will withhold 2.5% of the total account balance as zakat. According to the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance, 1980, if the balance is less than Rs 135,179, no zakat deduction will be made at the source.
